Mary Beth Barron is Chief Marketing Officer of MAZAKALI, a cannabis investment firm based in San Francisco, with offices in Denver and Chicago. Starting her marketing career at Apple Far East (Hong Kong), Mary Beth has served as the senior marketing leader for several global professional services and technology services firms including: Korn Ferry Consulting, A.T. Kearney, EDS (now HP) and Ygomi–the private equity firm that founded Navteq. She has also been President of GlobalThinking.

Prior to her marketing leadership role at A.T. Kearney, Mary Beth spent several years with the firm as a management consultant. There she served clients such as General Motors, eGM, and Canadian National. Her innovative work in benchmarking and alliance partnerships at General Motors was featured in The Wall Street Journal.

Mary Beth spent more than half a decade living and working in Asia, and also has extensive experience in EMEA. In addition to Apple, her expatriate experience includes leadership roles with McDonald’s China and Media Partners International (now JCDecaux). Mary Beth has also led several innovation initiatives receiving international recognition including: at McDonald’s China her work with international cold chain partners was profiled in The Wall Street Journal Asia and The Economist. 

Mary Beth holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BA from The Colorado College.

She is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF), and former active member of the Mayor of Chicago’s China Committee, the Joffrey Ballet women’s board, and the Executives’ Club of Chicago. She was also the co-founder of a business school at Kai Tak Vietnamese Refugee Camp–an experience inspiring her strong interest in leadership and mentoring. Mary Beth is based in Chicago.
